NEW MCNALLY STANDARD STRUMSTICK STRUM-STICK DULCIMER IN G
THE McNALLY STANDARD STRUMSTICK
The package includes:
Amazingly easy and versatile! Sounds great right from the start - even in a beginners hands!
What is it?
The McNally Strumstick is a unique hybrid of the Appalaichan Dulcimer and the guitar. Like the Dulcimer it is fretted using only the notes of the major scale. As a result the are NO WRONG NOTES!
Making it easy for novices, yet amazingly versatile for all musicians.
The Strumstick was designed for people who don't play any musical instrument, and are convinced they can't play any music. There are no wrong notes, there are just the notes of a simple scale. ANYTHING YOU PLAY ON IT SOUNDS GOOD. Since there are no wrong notes, there are no mistakes, you can have fun making sounds without worrying about "getting it right". IT'S EASY!
The Strumstick is handmade in the USA by Bob McNally (who licensed the design to Martin Guitars for their “Backpacker” range of travel instruments) The Strumstick is made from quality materials featuring neck and rims of adouk, solid sitka spruce top and solid maple back. Approx dimensions are: L 29.5" W 4" - Weighs about 11 oz. The tone is like a cross between a banjo and a dulcimer.
The Standard Strumstick is tuned G D G. and plays in the key of G. The primary key is G, also tunable down as low as C or up to A. Useable keys are
C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G
, G#, and A. We also sell them in primary keys C and D.
The Strumstick is an ideal instrument for children to start on. Ages 3-5, some adult supervision and guidance recommended. For ages 6 to 96 a child-like spirit is useful but not essential.
The banjo/dulcimer sound of the Strumstick fits nicely into lots of different musical settings, especially folk, Celtic, country & roots music and is great for jamming!
WHO IS IT FOR?
People who do not play any musical instrument, and would like to be able to make some music, even though they think they can't.
People who already play another instrument, and want a fun, intuitive, great-sounding little instrument.
People who plan on learning guitar who want to get some easy experience which will make guitar less challenging. Children, beginners or accomplished musicians alike
